It's officially as dark as it's gonna get with that method.īut it's still only dark brown. Now, the gradient I have down, however, that technique (have to put the soda ash in initially) in combination with having to keep the temperature a bit lower to avoid melting the wax (the wax I'm using starts to melt at 110 I just did a layer of black today pushing it as close as I safely could to that), and the closest I can get is a dark brown. I have gone at that thing 9 times with ink, and I plan on going at it once more with a layer of red to blend out some of the gradient black hues a bit (worked well the first time).įIVE of those times has been trying to get the stupid thing black at the top.
